George Bush: Get Serious About Crime Today, on Good Morning America, President Bush cynically dismissed the recent National Association of Police Organizations' endorsement of Bill Clinton and Al Gore, saying NAPO was just another "liberal group who had endorsed Michael Dukakis." George Bush should get his facts straight. NAPO did not endorse Dukakis in 1988-- they were neutral. In fact, NAPO endorsed Ronald Reagan in both 1980 and 1984. It's not surprising that George Bush dismisses the courage and dedication of the officers NAPO - he has been dismissing America's crime problems for the last twelve years. If George Bush thought NAPO was just another liberal group, then why did the Bush Campaign care enough to send campaign aides to the NAPO convention for the entire week they were meeting attempting to sway the NAPO endorsement. If George Bush thought NAPO was just another liberal group, than why did Vice President Dan Quayle lobby Bob Scully, President of NAPO, and other board members prior to the endorsement vote. Apparently, the Bush administration thought NAPO's endorsement was worth a high-level personal appeal. George Bush dismisses NAPO, dismisses funding for fighting crime, and dismisses the Brady Bill. It's time the American people dismiss George Bush. -30-30-30-
