For People for a Change: Clinton-Gore '92 National Talking Points Tuesday, October 6 Bush is desperately running from his record. Clinton-Gore are running to make government work for people: to create jobs, control health care costs and improve education. Veto override. A historic triumph for the little guy over the special interests. Bush tax laws favor the rich and foreign corporations. Bush tax laws let foreign corporations pay less in taxes than American businesses. Bill Clinton would make them pay the same amount, not a penny more. And he'd stop Bush's use of American tax dollars to encourage companies to shut down and move our jobs overseas. Bush false advertising. CBS News last night said Bush's ads are "lying." Bush won't do much as President, but he'll do anything to get elected, even fool people with false advertising. Bush has ruined public discourse, and he has little credibility left, if any. Bush cover up uncovered. New reports of secret Israeli records show Bush was in on the illegal arms swap with terrorists for hostages. "This is about a shoddy, illegal scheme to foil Congress and fool the American people" (Miami Herald 10/3). A plan for jobs. Unlike Bush, who did nothing when Americans started losing their jobs in record numbers, Clinton-Gore have a plan to create high wage jobs, to give incentives for investment in new businesses, and to get our economy moving. A plan to control health care costs. The Bipartisan Panel last week found Clinton-Gore plan will save the U.S. economy $750 billion by the year 2000, and save average American families thousands of dollars each year. Bush still says he won't control health care costs. Endorsements. Perot's economic adviser, John White, now says "the Clinton-Gore ticket holds the most promise for us as a country... a future of good jobs and long term fiscal strength." Pathetic GOP distractions. "Give us a break. If we read one more story about character we're going to puke. Nobody in their right mind would vote for George Bush. Unless you're rich." (members of UAW Local 1776, Ypsilanti, Michigan, Associated Press, 10/5) Don't read lips. Read records. "Arkansas is a low tax state with a shrinking government, expanding jobs and expanding incomes, a State that has a steady hand on tax and spending policies." ... George Bush "has lost jobs, cut incomes, increased the size of government and increased government spending." (Wall Street Journal, 10/1) Schedule. Clinton-Gore team is together today for 22nd day this year when they appear on "Donahue" to talk about how Bush policies have unfairly favored foreign business interests over the American people. We need a White House that will put people first for a change. Authorized by Clinton/Gore '92 Committee Box 615, Little Rock, AR 72203.
