LIST.HEALTHPLAN subscribers who spend much time on the Internet are invited to let others know about the existence of LIST.HEALTHPLAN by posting the following announcement in appropriate newsgroups and electronic bulletin boards. Many thanks. ======== Subject: WHITE HOUSE HEALTH LIST ONLINE An Internet mailing list is now on line as a conduit through which the White House sends health-reform announcements directly to health professionals and others with electronic mailing addresses. LIST.HEALTHPLAN is on the Institute for Global Communications (IGC) system and can be subscribed to by sending a message to SFREEDKIN@IGC.APC.ORG in the following exact format: Subject: SUBSCRIBE LIST.HEALTHPLAN Body: ADD: your-electronic-address-here (your real name in parentheses) Your real name here Your postal address (optional) City, State, ZIP Profession Professional interest in health care (if any) Institutional affiliation, if relevant Note: In the above, "Subject:" denotes the Subject line in the message header, and "Body:" denotes the message text itself. It is not necessary to indent the lines. Do not include the word "Body:" and please DO put your name in parentheses (), remembering to leave ONE blank space between your full Internet electronic address and the opening parenthesis ( and remembering to put a close parenthesis ) at the end of the line. You will receive a welcome letter describing the list in detail and telling you how to retrieve items that have previously gone to the list. To write to the White House electronically about health care or any other issue, use the addresses PRESIDENT@WHITEHOUSE.GOV and VICE.PRESIDENT@- WHITEHOUSE.GOV, and be sure to include your postal address if you want a reply -- only a generic reply letter goes out electronically. The most effective letters are very brief and to the point. -- Steve Freedkin LIST.HEALTHPLAN Administrator (I am a volunteer, *not* a government official.)
