CLARKE EPA REGIONAL ADMINISTRATOR, NORTHWEST REGION President Clinton today named Charles C. Clarke as Regional Administrator with the Environmental Protection Agency for Region 10, representing Alaska, Idaho, Oregon and Washington. Mr. Clarke joins the E.P.A. with more than 17 years of public service. Most recently, Mr. Clarke was the Agency Secretary for the Vermont Agency of Natural Resources. From 1976 to 1992, Mr. Clarke worked for the state of Washington. He was the Director for the Department of Ecology for one year, Director for the Department of Community Development (1987-1992), and Deputy Director of Community Development (1982-1987). He spent six years (1976-1982) in the state Department of Ecology in positions ranging from Planner for the Water Quality Management Division to Division Supervisor for the Financial and Administrative Services Division. Mr. Clarke, a resident of both Vermont and Washington, earned both his M.B.A. and his B.A. in Biology from the Pacific Lutheran University. He is married and has one daughter. -30-30-30-
