THE WHITE HOUSE Office of the Press Secretary ________________________________________________________________________ For Immediate Release June 20, 1995 President Names Three Members of the Central Asian-American Enterprise Fund Board The President today announced that Theodore C. Sorensen, Harrison J. Goldin and Jules B. Kroll have been named to serve on the Board of Directors of the Central Asian-American Enterprise Fund. Sorensen, who served as policy advisor and special counsel to President Kennedy, is a partner with the New York law firm of Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton and Garrison where he is chairman of the firm's International Practice Committee. Goldin is the senior partner of Goldin Associates, a New York-based financial advisory and crisis management firm that he established after serving as comptroller for the city of New York from 1974 to 1979. Kroll is the chairman of Kroll Associates, an international corporate investigations firm. The three new directors join the Fund's Board which is chaired by former congressman Stephen J. Solarz (D-N.Y.). The Fund has authority to make equity investments and loans, as well as related technical assistance, to small and medium-sized businesses in the Central Asian Republics of Kazakhstan, Kyrgystan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan.
