________________________________________________________________________ For Immediate Release March 30, 1995 PRESIDENT NAMES FOUR TO HERITAGE BOARD The President today announced his intention to reappoint Zvi Kestenbaum of New York and to appoint Bernyce Adler of Florida, Fred Hochberg and Lee Seeman of New York as members of the Commission for the Preservation of America's Heritage Abroad. Rabbi Kestenbaum serves as President of the Society for the Preservation of Jewish Cemeteries and is well known and highly regarded for his civic and spiritual leadership in Brooklyn. A survivor of the Holocaust, he developed the concept of a commission to preserve Jewish cemeteries, monuments and other holy sites throughout the world. In addition, he is the President of the Opportunity Development Association, Community Development Corporation, representing the Hasidic entrepreneurial community interests. Ms. Adler serves on the Board of the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee and the United Jewish Appeal. She is a Trustee of the Washington Institute for Near East Affairs and of the University of Miami and previously served as a Member of the Public Health Trust of Dade County. Mr. Hochberg is a private investor in New York City. Previously, he was President and Chief Operating Officer of the Lillian Vernon Corporation and continues to serve on their Board of Directors. In addition, Mr. Hochberg is on the Executive Committee of the Human Rights Campaign Fund. After earning his Bachelor of Arts degree from New York University, he received an MBA from Columbia University. Ms. Seeman is a Trustee of the W. F. Albright Institute of Archeological Research in Jerusalem, affiliated with the American Schools of Oriental Research. She serves as a New York State Democratic Committeewoman, Program Chair of the Great Neck Chamber of Commerce and a Member of Temple Beth-El of Great Neck. Ms. Seeman is also an insurance broker. The Commission is an independent agency established in 1985 which is responsible for identifying and encouraging the preservation and protection of cemeteries, monuments and historic buildings located abroad which are associated with the foreign heritage of United States citizens from central and eastern Europe. -30-30-30-
