DUNN AS ASSISTANT SECRETARY FOR MARKETING AND REGULATORY PROGRAMS AT USDA President Clinton today announced his intention to nominate Michael V. Dunn of Iowa as the Assistant Secretary for Marketing and Regulatory Programs at the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Mr. Dunn is currently the Deputy Under Secretary for Rural Economic and Community Development. Prior to the reorganization of the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Mr. Dunn served as the Administrator of the Farmers Home Administration. Mr. Dunn's prior experience includes serving as a staff specialist on the Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry; as the Vice President of the National Farmers Union; and as an Area Director of the Farmers Home Administration during the Carter Administration. Mr. Dunn and his family currently reside in Harpers Ferry, West Virginia. As the Assistant Secretary for Marketing and Regulatory Programs, Mr. Dunn will be responsible for the non-food safety U.S. Department of Agriculture programs including the activities of the Agricultural Marketing Service, the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service, and all activities of the Grain Inspection, Packers and Stockyards Administration. -30-30-30-
