CASSY - Catalog Card / Accession & Shelf List SystemIt is designed for Dewey Decimal based libraries to assist in processingBOOKS and AV materials. The system maintains ACCESSION information for eachitem, and provides a means to print (and reprint) sets of catalog cards(AUTHOR, TITLE, SUBJECT, SHELF), accession lists, and shelf lists. The programwill run on floppy- and fixed- disk IBM PC's and compatibles. Itfeatures simple and intuitive menu-driven access to the various activities.The book accession numbers are automatically incremented and stored (but may beoverridden). Title, author, publisher, etc. information is stored in library-correct upper- and lower-case characters, while subject headings arealways upper-case. Up to 5 subject headings per item are maintained. Cards areprinted in sets in AACR2 (ie. library, not ASCII) order for easy filing. Theaccession and shelf printed listings may include the complete collection orinclude only partial ranges. About 1400 items may be stored on a single 360Kfloppy diskette. Information entered and stored by this program may be mergedinto larger systems that include circulation processing and on-line cardcatalog features. You will need to print the CASSY.DOC file since it has allthe installation and operation instructions. The pages are formatted to fitinto the small computer-style binders.
