Here is a followup articly explaining what I am aware of: Date: Fri, 2 Sep 1994 13:46:03 -0400 From: Kevin Atkinson Subject: Re: Announceing: The begging of the Usenet Bible! But I need help... Due to the recent number of e-mails I got it is clear that I should have made it clear what I am aware of and how I plan on using them. I am aware of ALL the lists being posted to news.lists and I plan on making use of that information by using perl scripts. I am also aware of the collection at ftp.uu.net however, these charters are not in any neat format that I can use with perl scripts like the postings to news.lists which means that the only way to make use of them is to go through them my-self which I might do in the near future. (However I would appreciate some help on this) I was not aware of Cameron Laird list of archived newsgroups however I am now and plan on making use of this list as long as forwarding any information on where a group is archived to Cameron. I was also somewhat aware of news.groups.reviews however I really didn't give it much thought. I now also plan to make use of it if the moderator of the group doesn't have any objection to it. (Like Copyright matters) I also what to add that if someone is going to print a book very similar to what I am posting my reaction is WHO CARES. You have to pay for there book while my list Is going to be available free of charge. PS: I could REALLY use good long descriptions for the groups so please start sending them in as described in my original article (I don't have enough time to go through all of the FAQ and the archive at ftp.uu.net)
