Setting Preferences



Open the document that you want to use as your home page. Click the right mouse button over a blank area in the document window. From the pop-up menu, select Set Home Page.

Display

Progressive Display Reformat Once After All Images - Reformats the document after all images are loaded.
Reformat After Each Image - Reformats the document after each image is loaded.
Image Display Load Images Automatically - Loads documents without loading images. To load a missing image, place the mouse pointer over the missing image, click the right mouse button, and select Load Missing Image from the pop-up menu. To load all missing images, select Load Missing Images from the Navigate menu.
Display Images Progressively - Images in documents that specify the size of inline images will be displayed as they are loaded.
Dither Images - Select this option to improve image quality on displays with 256 or fewer colors. To view graphics faster, do not select this option.
Use Private Colormap - Improves image quality by using a private colormap which will be created the next time you start Redbaron.

Fonts

Font Size Sets the size of text on your display.
Normal Text Font Font used for most text.
Header Font Font used for text headings.
Monospace Text Font Font used for fixed-width text.

Colors

Text Color Color of normal text.
Background Color Color of background in document windows. To use the background color set in the Windows Control Panel, select the Use System Colors option.
Link Color Default link color.
Visited Link Color Color of links that have been clicked recently.
Ignore Document Attributes Select this option to ignore color attributes specified in documents. Colors specified by <BODY> tag attributes (BACKGROUND, TEXT, BGCOLOR, LINK, VLINK, and ALINK) will be ignored. The colors that you specify in the Colors panel will be used instead.

Printing

Header Font Size Sets the size of printed headers and footers.
Paper Size Select the Paper Size you want to use.
Page Margins Type the margin measurements you want for margins. The system of measurement used for margins depends on the paper size selected.
Page Header and Page Footer Specify the information to be printed by using the following variables. Variables may be combined with text (Page &p of &P).

Print Spooler Select the print spooler you want to use.
Print Command Type the default print command used for your system.

Cache

Cache Directory Location of the cache file.
Cache Size Limit To load previously loaded files faster, specify the amount of disk space in kilobytes reserved for cached files.
Current Cache Size Displays the current size of the cache.
Flush Cache Click to clear the cache now.
Verify Cache Select one of the following options to determine how often network documents are checked for revisions:

Never - Load cached documents without checking server for newer version.

Once Per Session - Before loading a cached file, check the server for a newer version only once during the time you start and quit Redbaron. This is the default setting.

Always - Before loading a cached document, always check the server for a newer version.

Flush Cache On Exit Select this option if you want Redbaron to delete cached files after each session.

Proxies

A proxy server is a program that controls access to a private network. A proxy server is typically installed on a firewall. A proxy server blocks unauthorized access from outside of the filewall while allowing users inside of the filewall to access the Internet. If your network is protected by a filewall, you will need to configure proxy servers. You can specify a different proxy server for HTTP, Gopher, and FTP protocols.
HTTP Proxy Type the domain name (or IP address) and port number of the proxy server you are using for HTTP servers. See your Internet access provider or system administrator for details.
Gopher Proxy Type the domain name (or IP address) and port number of the proxy server you are using for Gopher servers.
FTP Proxy Type the domain name (or IP address) and port number of the proxy server you are using for FTP servers.
Bypass Proxy On This option allows you to access servers inside of your filewall without using a proxy server. To access servers inside of your firewall. In the Bypass Proxy On field, specify the IP addresses, domain names, and ports that should be accessed directly without using a proxy server. Separate entries with commas. Examples:

SOCKS Proxy Enter the address of the SOCKS proxy that you want to use.

Miscellaneous

Home Page The home page is the document displayed when you start Redbaron, open a new window, or select Home from the Navigate menu. Any document that can be viewed in Redbaron can be specified as your home page. Use a local document as your home page.
Email Address Enter your email address.
Email Server Enter the address of your email server. See your Internet access provider or system administrator for details.
Download Directory Enter the location where you want downloaded files to be saved.
Show Toolbar Select this option to display the toolbar.
Show Server Messages Select this option to display messages sent by servers. Messages from servers often provide more detailed information than error messages from Redbaron.
Underline Links Select this option to underline hyperlinks.
Use Multiple Connections Select this options to use up to five simultaneous network connections to load images faster.
