But not very reliably. With Linux 2.0.19 or later, you should be able to use them without having to fear kernel crashes. I have big difficulties with Windows 95 to show all files when doing 'ls' on a directory with long file names. To enable long file names, you have to enable the experimental features when configuring the 2.0.x kernel.
