Linuxconf provides five predefined run-levels generally suitable for workstations. Each run-level corresponds to a combination of the following features:
Some Linux systems need more control. Some servers never run X, for example, but may support various configurations through /etc/inittab. It is possible to reprogram the five definitions provided by Linuxconf. Each of the three topics above may be controlled separately for each of the five run-levels. You are also allowed to give a different name.
