There are different reason why something might be missing on your
system.
- You did not install all packages. Most Linux distribution
let you add the package on the fly. On Debian systems, this is done
with the
dselect
command. On RedHat systems, this
is done with the glint
command. On Slackware systems, this
is done with the pkgtool
command.
- Your distribution have none standard components. Most distribution
(for some time now) agree on the FSSTND. This document describe
where things should go. At least one distribution is fun. Some
RedHat 3.0.3 cdrom contain
/usr/sbin/portmap
and
some contain /usr/sbin/rpc.portmap
. Most distribution
contain the later.
Anyway, you will have to investigate this and fix the path used
by Linuxconf.
- You do not intend to run this package anyway, so you did not
install it.
