This directory contains the 2nd snapshot of the MkLinux system for the Intel i*86 platform. It contains the following archive files: mklinux-1.0b2-bin.tgz The binaries and configuration files you need to install on a Linux system. Extract this archive file from the root directory and follow the instructions in the MKLINUX_BOOT.README file. mklinux-1.0b2-bin-extra.tgz More binaries, like microkernels and servers with debugging assertions, and some microkernels with support for MPv1 multiprocessing. Extract from the root directory too. mklinux-1.0b2-mklinux.tgz The Linux server sources. Extract from /usr/src for example and follow the instructions in the MKLINUX_BUILD.README file. mklinux-1.0b2-osfmk.tgz The OSF microkernel sources. Extract from /usr/src for example and follow the instructions in the OSFMK_BUILD.README file. mklinux-1.0b2-tools.tgz The ODE (OSF Development Environment) tools and more. If you just want to give MkLinux a try and see how it runs, the "bin" archive is all you need. If you want to build the microkernel, you need the "osfmk" and "tools" archives. If you want to build the Linux server, you need the "mklinux", "osfmk" and "tools" archives. The source and tools archives should all be extracted from the same directory (/usr/src is a good guess, although not mandatory).
