2000-03-06 -+- Jonathan Maddox -+- maddoxj@sg.adi-limited.com.au -+- Nice title -- but very little information.

You say that all three operating systems are booting from the same disk. But there is no information on the way that disk is partitioned. I have had endless trouble with SCO's partitioning schema. SCO doesn't seem to talk partition tables with other OSes; it "divvies" up the disk in quite a haphazard way (it seems to me) with its own private partition data. I have always just let it have the "whole disk" and used another disk for any other OS on the same machine.

How did you get SCO to mark out its disk usage on the standard partition table?

Jonathan 2001-04-02 -+- hiren -+- hiren_pat@yahoo.com -+- I have HD loded with SCO , I remove this hd from machin and join it to the Linux Machin RH7

my mail is hiren_pat@yahoo.com 2001-12-23 -+- TM -+- t_mahmood@hotmail.com -+- It is quite helpfull for having three OS's on one machine. Did you used three different HD's for each OS or all OS's use the same HD. I am facing a problem in installing SCO openserver 5,05 during installation I get an error msg like"system error 2: while opening file \cdromfs\opt\archives\vol.000.000" Can you please recommend me anything.

TM 2002-01-23 -+- tushar -+- tushar_chindarkar@hotmail.com -+- hello sir,

i would like to know the number of partitions u made while installations of these three os'.

pl. mail me for the above topic.

thank you

tushar chindarkar 2002-02-01 -+- Scott Dong -+- yoohoo@ynmail.com -+- You may use a cdrom disc which is a incorrect copy(clone) of the origin one.SCO UNIX & Linux use ISO9660 with rock-ridge extension for it's installation CD,if you use a Microsoft Windows based CDWriter program to make your own copy, and simply drag all files from origin disc to target disc,Windows convert the file name "VOL.000.000" into "VOL_000.000",then it will not work when installation.

Under Linux, you can make a ISO image file use MKISOFS with para "-r" or "-R" to support Rock-Ridge Extension, then burn it to CD-R with a CDWriter program. So it will be no problem to install SCO Openserver with this CD.

I even tried to get some help from Red Hat and SCO but neither of them could help me at all.
I will try what you did and will let you know how it worked.
