2000-05-07 -+- Bob James -+- bjames@orielinc.com -+- Having read your article on Arkeia, I was surprised to see that you never mentioned anything about the service and support issue. From personal experience, I can say that the "support" you get is limited to the mail lists running off of Arkeia's servers. Most of the messages I received as part of the two-month-long evaluation phase of Arkeia were simply other SysAdmins and Managers telling each other about similar problems that they had experienced, but had received NO support from Arkeia personnel. During the entire time, in fact, not once did an Arkeia engineer grace us with her/his presence and answer questions. After I ran into problems which I could not resolve and got nothing from the list (save sympathy from other SysAdmins in similar straits), I pulled the plug on Arkeia. FOr the moment, we are staying on our NetWare-based ARCserve solution, although we are evaluating other Linux-based products. But as far as Arkeia goes, count me out! 2003-03-04 -+- shaheed -+- shaheed2003_2@yahoo.com -+- Teyp Of The Network
