Easy3DESCrypt versus PGP/GnuPG

Why to do it easy, if it is possible to do it that wunderful complicated. That seems to be the motto of PGP and it's free Unix/Linux derivate GnuPG.

The question wether PGP or GnuPG is the best tool for you, depends on your preferences. If you just want to protect your data from unauthorizied access (passive and active attacks) easy, quick and secure, Easy3DESCrypt is the solution of choise.

But, if you think a tool can not have enough confusing options and like to spend much time to study the manual or even more money for education and consulting, GnuPG is a better choise for you.

With PGP/GnuPG you have a lot of choise

If you decide to use GnuPG, you can choose between not less than seven different symmetric block ciphers (3DES, CAST5, BLOWFISH, RIJNDAEL, RIJNDAEL192, RIJNDAEL256, TWOFISH), three different secure hash functions (MD5, SHA-1, RIPEMD160) and six different public key algorithms (RSA, RSA-E, RSA-S,ELG-E, DSA, ELG) and any abitray combination of these algorithms. But, where is the advantage of having that much choise ?

It is next to impossible to list all commands and options GnuPG offers. If you installed GnuPG and type gpg -h the list of the most important commands und options fill several pages. Even more commands and options you can find on the man pages. Moreover you can bye serveral books dealing exclusively with PGP/GnuPG

But before you decide to use PGP/GnuP it is recommended to think about the following questions.

Keep in mind - Time is money ! So don't waste much money with PGP/GnuPG and save your money with Easy3DESCrypt !
