QUICK START FOR THOSE PEOPLE WHO ONLY WANT TO EVALUATE CLOBBERD
---------------------------------------------------------------

yes, you can compile and use this distribution without having to fully
install it.

first have a look at the requirements, at the start of INSTALL file. if
you are running a linux machine that matches the requirements, then you
can compile and use as follows:

- make a directory called /home/jsno/proj.

- add a /etc/service entry for clobberd:

  --> clobberd        303/tcp         clobberd

- copy clobberd.*.tar.gz distribution it this directory, and extract

- cd into clobberd, and type in 'make'.

that's really all you have to do. you can evaluate clobberd from that
directory. running clobberd, and using the clobberedit utility should give
you a fair idea of what you're letting yourself in for ;).

if you are going to use this utility blind without knowing what you are
doing, then don't run it on your live equipment that your users are using.
usually the first thing clobberd does when a novice starts playing with
it is nuke all their users.

Nb/ to get proper action (and hence for clobberd to work properly),
requires a full in install. for a fair trial, please follow the full
installation.
