FORMAT 0.90

This is the second beta release of FORMAT, a generic DOS disk
formatting utility which supports all standard DOS floppy drive
formats (160K to 2880K), as well as the formatting of hard drive
partitions up to 2 gigabytes.

It requires a DOS compatible with MS-DOS 3.30 or higher, but will not
currently work with DOS-C/Free-DOS, primarily because of the lack of
kernel support for the 440Dh (Generic IOCTL) Int 21h service.

The executable was compiled with Borland C++ 3.1. Microsoft C 5.0
through 7.0 support was initially planned but, as documented, the
Microsoft implementation of signal() is inadequate. Although it
employs the tiny memory model, the program requires huge pointers, so
is not compatible with MICRO-C.

FORMAT 0.90 differs from FORMAT 0.80 in that it incorporates two minor
bug fixes and corrects an error in the documentation.
