Alastair asked for stroke count tables for GB characters.
The official work on the subject is :

Beijing tushuguan (ed.), Hanyu shuxing zidian, Beijing: Shumu wenxian,
1988.

I think I saw a second edition announced, but am not completely sure.
For every character is listed the form, pinyin with tone-NUMBER, quwei,
GB code, telex code, "Taiwan code", number strokes, 4-corner, wubibixing
(complete), radical, order in radical list, number strokes radical, wubi
bixing (except for radical), and alternative characters.

Dear friends and colleagues,

KanjiBase is a convention for indexing and providing access to over
48000 characters. It provides access

I finally seized the opportunity to put the KanjiBase on the Web. The
system is not yet very well tested, but it should get more stable
soon. It can be accessed through my homepage at
