The Li Po Society of America is an informal East-West cultural league whose primary interest is poetry and poetry in translation. From time to time, we publish a number of translations done by us & others. (I know I must submit a bibliography to CHPOEM-NET; one of my New Year's resolutions.) We picked Li Po (Li Bai) because we like his work and we like the translations of him done by Ezra Pound. We also have read that Li Po's eyes are not believed to have been blue. Our work includes quatrains of the great dynasties, folksongs, san ch'u, & epigrams. Commercial publication includes Zyzzva, A Brotherhood in Song (Renditions), Carbuncle, and Technicians of the Sacred (UC). Projects in-progress include haiku (& senryu & rrenka) for younger readers of all ages (from all languages), Wang Wei, Chinese "Mother Goose" for tots, "Weeds" by Lu Xun, classical seals, & others. Commercial publication includes work in Zyzzva 1, A Brotherhood in Song (Renditions, HK/Seattle), Carbuncle (SF), Technicians of the Sacred (UC Press), and City Lights Review #1, (SF). NOTICE: Scholars and students interested in submitting work or working on translation(s) with us are more than welcome. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~ Gary Gach, Secretary | The Li Po Society of America | 1243 Broadway #4 | San Francisco CA 94109 USA ggach@pandora.sf.ca.us | (415) 771 7793 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Walter Leong, President C.
