OPEN A DOOR FOR YOUR IMMIGRATION TO CANADA (April 20, 1994) Dear Colleges: If you are a graduate student or a scholar who is considering to safely and quickly immigrate to Canada in an inexpensive way under a good lawyer's assistance, this message would be useful for you. As mentioned in the last two posted messages, Immigration #1 - "Where is the Expressway for Landing into Canada" (March 17, 1994), and Immigration #2 - "How to Find a Good Lawyer" (April 13, 1994), there are some important factors which could significantly influence to your success in your PR application. I understand that not only you are confusing in searching for a good lawyer's assistance, but there is indeed confusing situations in lawyers business in terms of mass number of lawyers and consultants and variety of immigration services. I was trying to provide you with some useful information for your reference, however, I realized that it seamed not enough to help you on the right track very soon. It is not necessary and not possible for everyone to be knowledgable in this field before he could find a good lawyer. That was the reason for me to decide doing something more than just simply provide you with information. I have spent too much energy in studying immigration matters and immigration lawyers for my application. I know, but not just feel, that the lawyer and the lawyer's firm I selected for myself is a good one evaluated by the crucial conditions for a good lawyer as mentioned in the Immigration #2. However, instead of simply introduce the lawyer to our public, I believed that I should and I could do better: assist the firm improve services in the way more favour to our people, and have them get more benefit than I got (I got no success/money back guarantee). I am pleased to tell you that the lawyer has kindly accepted all my suggestions and made the corresponding arrangements for a special program named University Program which is designed particularly for the favour of our Chinese graduate students in Canadian Universities. After continuing efforts, it is the time to introduce the lawyer's firm and the program to our public. The lawyer's firm, Stewart, Roper & Associates, is located in Toronto and is headed by two immigration lawyers who are specialized in the field of Independent and Business Immigration. The firm has developed one of the largest immigration practices in Canada and is the member of the Law Society of Upper Canada (I will explain to you why the "member" is important for your PR application). The firm is well organized. Under the support of well trained immigration paralegal and secretarial staff in the main office at Toronto, the lawyers may concentrate themselves in the studying of the crucial points for each case, improvement of the environment for their posts abroad in the Canadian Embassies and Consulate Generals, and dealing with the immigration officials on behalf of their clients. My lawyer's name is Ms. Jacqueline Bart, and another lawyer's name is Mr. Christopher Roper. They are in charge of cases separately but are working together closely and discuss the case if a particular difficulty appears. My lawyer is in charge of the University Program and I will act as the firm's representative in charge of the second channel in the program, since I believe that I would have more chance to do the favour for our Chinese graduate students if I am involved more in the work of the firm. The new second channel has been decided to open through telecommunication vehicles, such as Fax and E-mail, to provide more convenient and faster services for the clients who have difficulty to go to Toronto personally since the program is designed to accept clients from universities cross Canada and in some cases clients who are overseas would be also considered. The University Program is therefore announced as the following: 1), Who are entitled a), all Chinese graduate students who are currently studying in a Canadian university/college are automatically approved; b), all Chinese scholars/post doctors who are currently working in a Canadian university/college are automatically approved; c), Chinese graduate students who are currently studying in a university/college abroad other than in Canada will be considered individually. d), graduated Chinese students who are working or looking for jobs in Canada or abroad will be considered individually. 2), Discount the retainer fee decreases from five thousand US dollars (charged to normal clients) down to four thousand Canadian dollars. 3), Three step payment initial when sign the retainer letter $1,000 receive notice of interview/interview waiver $1,000 pass interview/receive interview waiver $2,000 plus Government Tax (GST at 7%) 4), 100% refund policy The firm will make every reasonable effort to protect the clients interests and ensure the clients' immigration visas granted. In case of a client's application is rejected, the firm will refund all the retainer fee charged by the firm to date, except in the case of untruthful information provided by the client. 5), The channels to accept cases For initial evaluation of your likelihood to be successfully immigrated into Canada under the assistance of the firm, based on which a decision of acceptance of your case will be made, you may go through one of the two channels to reach the firm: a), Go to Toronto, at 95 Wellington Street West, Suit 906, to meet the lawyer personally for initial consultation which will charge you $150 but it will credit into your account when you become the lawyer's client later. No one wants to make this money from you, but the lawyer is extremely busy doing the work for the clients she has already accepted so that it is impossible for her to meet everyone who just wants to ask some questions (You would appreciate it if you were her client). You need to make an appointment by call: (416) 368-7881, ask for Ms. Jacqueline Bart or her secretary. b), Send a resume to describe the basic situation and education/work background of you, and your spouse if applicable, in a little bit detail to this e-mail address. The information you provided will be evaluated by the same lawyer. You will be kept inform by e-mail. If the lawyer would like to accept your case, you will get a confirm letter and an agreement by mail or Fax as your specification. This service is charge free and save both your energy and the lawyer's time. 6), The final decision is yours After the initial evaluation through one of the two channels above, if the lawyer is confident of your success under the recommendation of the firm, your will get a confirm letter and a retainer letter (the agreement). You may keep it for some days for consideration. At that point, you will still have chance to make the final decision whether you would like to retain the lawyer for your PR application. If you change your mind in last minute, you have not to sign the retainer letter and you wouldn't be hurt in any sense. However, please first consider seriously and decide if you really need a lawyer's assistance in your immigration matters. If positive, you are welcome to contact us. But, please don't try the channels, particularly the second charge free channel, just for the purpose of knowing your chance of success. You may get some general idea about your case through services of a consultant. We will treat each request carefully and seriously and we wish you to do the same, which will be good for the people who really need a lawyer's help. Thank you for your cooperation. To be involved in the program, you may simply mention that you are interested in the University Program and who you are in terms of your basic status when you contact the firm through initial meeting with the lawyer or the e-mail. You should get the retainer letter with a file number initialled by UP (University Program) in which the terms will match with those described as above. I will continue to provide information related to immigration and immigration lawyers in the future's posted messages. Best wishes!
