The vigil was sponsored by Amnesty International and IFCSS. All IFCSS HQ officers joined the activity. During the vigil, candles were lit, a tape recorder played some Tiananman themed pieces of music, the parcicipants read a list of political prisoners. Some students from University of Maryland drove forty minutes to join the activity. The whole vigil lasted one hour (one hour short of scheduled time because of the bad weather). ********************************************************************* * The Missions of IFCSS * * Promote freedom, democracy, human rights and rule of law in China * * Assist the development of scienece, culture and economy in China * * Represent the interests of Chinese students and scholars in U.S.A * * IFCSS is a non-profit organization and has tax-exempt status. * *********************************************************************
