======================================================================== IFCSS China Exchange Projects and CDDAC Editorial Board Present 1994 Summer "Science, Technology & Industry" China Lecture Tour ['94 SciTour] ======================================================================== 3/11/94 NEWS RELEASE No.2: Call For Lecturers Since its first news release, the '94SciTour project has received very positive response from CSS community. We now formally start the application process. For those who are interested in participating, please request an application package through E-mail with your current postal address to SciTour@ifcss.org, or send a self addressed envelope to either Dr. David Yuan, 25 Deerwood West, Irvine, CA 92714-3057, USA or Dr. Yegang Wu, 3301 Gun Club Rd, West Palm Beach, FL 33416-4680,USA To ensure the quality of the returned applications, we will only send the package through postal service. The deadline for returning the application is Monday, April 4, postmarked. In addition, one may pick up an application package in the headquarters of IFCSS in Washington, DC after next week. Upon requests from some CSS, we will also enclose a form for those CSS who are seeking technique or information cooperation with interested entities in China in addition to/other than applying for the lecturer position. All received proposals will be presented to host institutions during the lecture tour. ============================= Appendix ================================= NEWS RELEASE No.1: Introduction and Call for Suggestions A lecture tour is arranged for overseas Chinese scholars and professionals to visit China and give lectures on various topics of "science, technology and industry" in June of 1994. 1. PURPOSE 1) Promote science development and market economy in China 2) Provide opportunities for overseas and domestic professional on information exchange and research/product development cooperation. 2. THE TOUR -- About 10 overseas Chinese scholars and professionals with a Ph.D. or MBA and remarkable professional accomplishments. -- Priority will be given to those expertise in applied sciences and technologies that may have significant impact to the current development of China's market economy. -- June 17 - July 1, 1994. Five to seven cities within China. -- All domestic expenses (lodging, meal, transportation, sight-seeing etc.) will be covered. At least $600.00 of international travel fare will be reimbursed. 3. SUGGESTION WANTED 1) Help us identify some topics in science and industry that are mostly needed currently in China. 2) If you are an expert in one of the fields and may possibly apply to join the tour group, list the talk topics you can give. 3) If you know some cities/"economic develop zones" that may be willing to host the event, please give us the contact information and we will send an invitation letter and related material to them. 4.
