It aims to increase the openness and transparency of the IFCSS, and to encourage criticisms, suggestions and active participation from our members. March 7, Monday HQ sent out news release no.5119 asking for signatures on a letter to President Clinton requesting visa extensions for Chinese students not covered under the CSPA. Lin Changsheng and Liu Xiaozhu returned to the HQ following their trip to Taiwan. March 8, Tuesday HQ Staff contacted NED regarding ongoing and new projects for IFCSS. HQ called local school leaders asking for their signatures on the letter to President Clinton (NR.5119) HQ lobbied more congressional offices for support of letter to Secretary Christopher. March 9, Wednesday HQ continued to contact local schools for their signatures on letter to President Clinton. HQ staff worked on the Hu Liqun's case concerning a discriminitory converting chart at the Ball State University. HQ spoke with the law firm of Arent Fox regarding the progress on support for new comer's visa extension. March 10, Thursday HQ sent out news release no.5120 regarding updated air fares. HQ continued to contact local student organizations for support for letter to President Clinton. HQ worked with the Arent Fox regarding the 90 day issue of the CSPA. March 11, Friday HQ Staff met with two representatives from the Goverment Accounting Office (GAO) regarding their preparation of a report on the human rights situation in China. HQ Staff conducted an interview with KPSA Radio in Berekely, California regarding Secretary Christopher's trip to China.
