It aims to increase the openness and transparency of the IFCSS, and to encourage criticisms, suggestions and active participation from our members. May 17, 1994. Lin Changsheng, the President of IFCSS, was interviewed by a reporter from Washington Bureau of Kyodo News Service in Japan. Lin introduced the achievements of IFCSS in the last few years and explained IFCSS's position on a few issues, such as Sino-US relationship. May 18, 1994 HQ staff went to the press conference of Wu HongDa who just came back from China with New Information about China's prison condition. May 19, 1994 HQ sent out news release # 5133 regarding the human rights report by Asia Watch/Human Rights in China. May 20, 1994. IFCSS and other human rights organizations held a demonstration outside of the White House, protesting the deteriorating human rights condition in China and asking the Clinton administration to abide by its promise to promote human rights in China. Representatives from five nation-wide Chinese organizations, including the president of IFCSS Lin Changsheng, began a 360- hour-hunger-strike for human rights in China. The hunger strike is held outside of the White House. It began at 9:00 p.m., May 20, 1994, and will end at 9:00 p.m., June 4, 1994. HQ sent out news release # 5134 regarding the human rights report on China by Amnesty International. May 22, 1994 Two groups of tourists from mainland China visited the hunger strikers, expressing the support of their action.
