           Bi-Partisan Capitol Hill Press Conference
                   on Immigration Legislation

Firmly standing against the unprecedented slash on legal immigra-
tion and business related immigration, Senators Spencer Abraham (R-
MI), Mike Dewine (R-OH), Arlen Specter (R-PA) and several other
Senators on the Judiciary Committee will lead a press conference
this afternoon, bringing together a broad coalition of interests
who are united in an effort to split the pending immigration bill.
The Senate Judiciary Committee is poised to begin discussing and
voting on S. 1394 on Thursday, February 29. We will brief you any
update information as quickly as we can.

As stated by National Immigration Forum, the coalition for prote-
cting legal immigration enjoys a broad spectrum of support. From
House Republican Leader Richard Armey to the Form's Executive
Director Barney Frank; from the AFL-CIO to the National Association
of Manufacturers; from the Small Business Survival Committee to
Microsoft; from Americans for Tax Reform to the National Council of
La Raza; and from the Washington Times to the Los Angeles Times -
all agree on this: Congress should focus on the priority problem of
illegal immigration and debate legal immigration separately and
later.

Please register your support for splitting legislations on legal
and illegal immigrations by phone call, fax or e-mail to: simpson_
bill@ifcss.org.

  Thanks for your attention.
