IFCSS is most delighted that Mr. Wang Dan can have a chance to recuperate from the tortures inflicted on him by the inhumane tyranny of the Chinese government. We wish Wang Dan well. Mr. Wang Dan is one of the most important student leaders in the 1989 Democracy Movement. He has been working for human rights and democracy in China ever since, through out his years in and out of the Chinese prisons. For his noble and truthful belief and for the people and the country he so love, Dan spent 9 years of his youthful life in jail. Mr. Wang Dan has been another shining example to all Chinese and to people all over the world of courage and human dignity. He has earned the respect and honor, not only for himself but also for Chinese everywhere. IFCSS solutes Wang Dan for his courage and relentless pursuits for a democratic China We have no doubt that he will be able to contribute greatly to the eventual democratization of our motherland. In the meantime, we call upon all freedom-loving people around the world not to forget the many more prisoners of conscience still held in China. We demand the Chinese government to release all of them immediately and unconditionally. *********************************************************************** * IFCSS News Release NR8018, April 19, 1998 * * * * To Reach Us: hq@ifcss.org council@ifcss.org * * svb@ifcc.org service@ifcss.org * * On the Web: www.ifcss.org * *********************************************************************** ----- End Included Message -----
