Readers Digest (RD) 1-(800)-234-9000 (subscription)
                      (914)-238-1000 Editorial Board

Hi, I talked with Reader's Digest Editorial Board. I told the lady who answered
the phone call that, as the Chair of Civil Rights Committee of IFCSS and
coordinator of CBS-IC, we are deeply concerned by the facts involved in that
article. I briefed her the whole CBS incident, how it got started, how
thousands angery phone calls and letters CBS has received, and how our
CBS-IC was organized. I also mentioned the letter from US. Commission on
Civil Rights, Defense Intelligency Agency, and finally, the apology on the
air by CBS News. I also told her Reader's Digest is a very reputable magzine,
and I am a loyal reader of her magzine. She promised to pass along this
conversation to the concerned editors, together with Xiao Dong and my
phone numbers.

I suggest every concerned netters to reach out to call RD to express your
concerns. We need more friendly calls to have this stopped, if it offers
generalised defamation of entire group, as CBS had done before.

I think we need to know more detailed information about the story before
we can make a move. If the story is not targeting (intentionally or not) at
the Chinese community in the States like what CBS did, or like what CNN
intended to do, we probably should not get involved.

We better to find the facts first before we launch any offensive. As long
as it does not defame the entire minority group, it will be fine. We'd better
inform them our concerns and our achievments, such as CBS on air apology,
to show them we are deadly seriouse if as a group we are offended.
