Introduction to China-Net ------------------------------------------------------------------------- China-Net was established in May 1989 to serve the overseas Chinese students and scholars (CSS) community. It provided a communication channel for CSS, coordinated group activities of CSS, and served as a bulletin board for various CSS organizations, especially the Independent Federation of Chinese Students and Scholars in USA (IFCSS) during the period of 1990-1992. China-Net has been managed by the China-Net Management Committee (CNMC), which is formed by a group of volunteers. The current working account of CNMC is: net-cord@ifcss.org The present China-Net is a moderated net which distributes the following information: (1) The Chinese Community Forum (CCF), a regular net-journal edited by the Editorial Board of CCF (EBCCF), which compiles and edits comments, debates and information on the affairs related to the Chinese community; A supplementary edition of CCF is dedicated to exchange Chinese Consumers Information (CCI) for the community. (2) The coordination information from CSS organizations such as IFCSS (US), FCSSC (Canada), AEIC, as well as other national and regional Chinese community organizations and institutions.
