Dear Friend: This is to inform you that you have been added to the DPP list so that you have direct posting access to China-Net for your organization. Please read carefully the attached guidelines for using DPP to post messages on China-Net. Thank you for your support and cooperation. Sincerely, China-Net Management Committee net-cord@ifcss.org Enclosure: the Guidelines ------------------------- ============================================== The Guidelines for Direct Posting on China-Net ============================================== (Last Revision on October 1, 1994) 1. Who can post? The registered China-Net coordinators, representing a Chinese student and/or scholars organization, may post directly to China-Net. Note: the posting shall be from and only from the registered account. The listserv at UGA will forward all mails from all non-registered accounts to the list maintainers. 2. How to post? Send message to: CHINA-NT@UGA.CC.UGA.EDU (Internet), or CHINA-NT@UGA (Bitnet). 3. What to post? (a) Edited newsletter of your organization; (b) Announcements, action calls, news release or activity reports of your organization; (c) Other well documented information which is related to the organized activities of Chinese students and scholars. 4. Rules of the Thumb and Netiquette: When using the direct posting priviledge to post your message to China-Net, please always - add a meaningful subject line; - sign your name and the organization's name which you are representing; - do not post messages that are irrelevant to the activity of your organization; - do not post personal messages; - do not post any message that is of personal attack or contains explicitly obscene language; - remember that a short message is always prefered to a long one; - remember that your post should be of interest to the majority of some 3000 readers all over the world; - save the network bandwidth as much as possible. Our moderator are watching the daily network traffic. Any violation of the above rules will be issued a warning. Further abuse of DPP will result in the termination of the priviledge. 5. Where to report problems or to complain? Please send your problem/question/complaint/suggestion/comment to China-Net Management Committee at: net-cord@ifcss.org. Thank you for your attention and cooperation. China-Net Management Committee net-cord@ifcss.org
