The intention of releasing it is to let more programmers to development Chinese supporting applications for Windows. I am sorry for the confusion I caused in the last version. This program ALONE is of no use to end users, it is only meaning full to a programmer. If you are an end user, please look to wTalk (another program from the same author) for a simple Chinese editor. And you can delete the *.h, and MISC.LIB files in this package after you install the programs since you may never need them. The programs are released as shareware. ===================================================================== History of Development: In Way 3.0.01: 1) Non-tone PinYin input method is implemented. 2) Dictionary compiler is implemented. 3) Fuzzy-search for PinYin input is implemented. In Way 3.0.02: (Apr. 1993) 1) Several practical input methods have been integrated in, they are WuBiZiXing (Wang Ma), Qian Ma, Telecode. PinYin CiHui dictionary now has over 30,000 characters/phrases. 2) Dictionary de-compiler has been implemented. 3) A full-flavored manual is also included, which covers the operation of Way and further software development with Way. They are used to create or decompile the aobve listed dictionary files. ====================================================================== To install the program: 1) change your current directory under DOS to the one you want to install Way; 2) execute Way3002.EXE, WayFONT.EXE and WayDIC.EXE to decompress all the files into the current directory; 3) move CH16.FON to SYSTEM subdirectory of your Windows directory (say c:\Windows\system); 4) If you want to use wTalk or ChPad (from Tian BoGang), you must either install them in the same directory as you install Way, or you must move MISC.DLL, WAY.EXE, and WAY.HLP into your Windows direcotry or the System subdirectory of the Windows directory; 5) If you move the files mentioned in 3), also remember to reset Way dictionary settings in Way's popup menu Dictionary/PinYin method, and Standard method. ===================================================================== That's all!
