What is it
db 2.6.4 (Berkeley DB) is a programmatic toolkit that provides
high-performance embedded database support for both traditional
and client/server applications.
The Berkeley DB access methods include B+tree, Extended Linear Hashing,
Fixed and Variable-length records. Berkeley DB also includes full
transactional support and database recovery, online backups, and separate
access to locking, logging and shared memory caching subsystems.
Berkeley DB supports C, C++, Java and Perl APIs, and is available for a
wide variety of UNIX platforms as well as Windows '95 and Windows NT
(MSVC 4 and 5).

Special Issues
When compiling this software, and often when using, you should
pkgrm GNUgdbm since there
exists incompatibilities with header files.
This version of Berkeley DB is used with Sendmail 8.9.2. You should install
this package before you install Sendmail.
