"Back in My Day ..."

The hands of a craftsman

The hands of today are busy crafting treasures even colonial artisans would be proud of. The Village of Yesteryear in the Gov. James Holshouser building features N.C. craft masters and their products. Fairgoers can find everything from Cherokee jewelry to hand-woven dresses.

Master gunsmith

Voices from the past

Nature provides the raw material for these walking sticks, but N.C. wood workers give the human touch by carving caricatures into the tree limbs.
