Partner Rape

Aphrodite Wounded

Aphrodite Wounded is a support site for women who have experienced rape/sexual assault in marriage or by another male partner

Stop Violence Against Women

"Intimate partner sexual assault is that committed by a current or past spouse or boyfriend. "

Marital Rape

"Approximately 10-14% of married women are raped by their husbands in the United States. Historically, most rape statutes read that rape was forced sexual intercourse with a woman not your wife, thus granting husbands a license to rape. On July 5, 1993, marital rape became a crime in all 50 states, under at least one section of the sexual offense codes. "

Hidden Hurt

A support site on marital rape. "Rape is rape, regardless of the relationship between the rapist and the victim."

For better or worse: the case of marital rape

"The intent is to provide a synthesized examination of marital rape, as well as to encourage research on marital rape. It is concluded that marital rape is a pressing problem that tends to be minimized by society and researchers need to devote greater attention to marital rape issues."

Real Rape, Real Pain: Help for Women Sexually Assaulted by Male Partners

Patricia Easteal and Louise McOrmond-Plummer have written an internationally-focused healing/resource book for survivors of marital/partner rape, to be released in September 2006. The book is aimed at survivors, their supporters and professionals in the fields of counselling, advocacy and law.
