I let them pass the moment they appear on my rear, unless there's no 
shoulder, no other lanes, or nothing I can do. I don't play games, I 
don't speed up, I have no reason to hold my position.

I guess I'm fortunate that I've never encountered one of these.

Weird! Either this is rare or a regional thing. Must make you wish you 
had a gun in your car.

No offense meant. I've never encountered a tailgater that didn't just 
want to go faster than me. I'm pretty responsive to this since I keep an 
eye on the rearview alot.
