Easy, just like the GM-Impact blew the doors off of a 300 ZX a couple of
years ago. (not bad for a 0.0 L engine :-) ). Too bad the car never
came to be but it just shows what technology can achieve.
As a side note: engine HP/Torque has been on a steady rise and engine
size (displacement) on a steady decline since themid seventies thanks to
technology such as advanced aspiration & fuel inject, multi valve
technology for more efficient exhaust removal/air intake,etc... Which
lets cars like a Lotus Espirit Turbo I4 develope 264 Hp and do 0-60 in
5.3- (though I am kinda apprehensive about including this car as a "good"
example of efficiency as it only gets 16 MPG on its "4" cylinder).
