   Try $1200 in Germany.

Try to convince people of that though. Its so easy to get a license, and driving is so common in the U.S. that many folks think its a God-given right. It isn't.

In Germany, ONE DUI conviction and you loose your license FOR GOOD! No
suspension, no probation, no more driving!

Sounds like a good idea to me!

That amazed me while I lived in London. The traffic was a mess, but I never
saw any evidence of accidents, and the locals I spoke with were amazed that we
in the U.S. had to have TRAFFIC REPORTS. "You all have *that* *many* wrecks?"
was the general response.
