Depends on two things:
1) what state you're in, and
2) what roads you're on.
Some states have "prima facie" speed limits where exceeding
them is legal if you can prove that your actions were not
unreasonable or dangerous.
The other exception is a little-known clause of the wonderful
National Maximum Speed Limit law. You cannot exceed it under
any circumstances; it is absolute. The anti-speed, big-
government forces won another round.
