What is so special about the number 65? Why not make it 80 or for that
matter maybe 95?

I disagree with you when you say that the government should impose
regulations to limit the speed of cars. What would happen if you were in an
emergency situation (lets say your wife were pregnant) one day that demanded
you exceed 65, what then?

I don't think there is anything wrong with exceeding the speed limit, as
long as it is done in a sensible fashion. There are times when the roads
allow excess speeds and there are times when they don't (ie. heavy traffic).

I read an article in Cycle World some time ago. The topic of the article was
100HP limit that governments should impose in many european countries. A
study however showed that there is no relation/corrolation between HP
capabilities and accidents. So there you have it, just because something has
the ability to go fast doesn't mean it will necessarily cause an accident.

I feel the government should focus more on other issues like drunk driving
instead of limiting cars. I know for a fact that here in Canada, for
example, 50%, yes thats right 50% of all motorcycle accidents are related to
driving under the influence of alcohol. So ther you have it again, Mark.
