[edit] Associated Discussion

Kate Crowe and Sally Jacobs, the writers of the Informationatrix and Practical Archivist blogs, respectively, would like to suggest an informal get-together for the bloggers, wiki creators/designers/maintainers, Flickr taggers, and anyone else who is involved in making the 2007 SAA Annual Meeting a little more "2.0."

We are both playing this by ear, so any feedback on this page from our fellow bloggers on times/places/dates that would be most convenient (and preferably, most appealing) for them would be most welcome.

Hiya, nexters! Sally J. here. Thanks, Kate for adding this invitation. I'd like to vote for Wednesday or Thursday, because I'm only in Chicago for those days/nights. I'm also curious: How many of you plan to attend the "Signifying Nothing" session on Thursday? It's the second-to-last slot, 2:45-4:15PM. Read the session description here.

I would like to rally for Thursday sometime because I won't be arriving in Chicago until late on Wednesday night - Jeanne of Spellbound Blog

I'm supposed to go the baseball game on Thursday, so I'm pulling for Wednesday night. Although I suppose I could get rid of my ticket . . . How about doing something over a lunch break instead of at night? I know a couple of other blogger types who are also committed to going to the game on either Wed or Thurs night. And don't forget to go to the informal 2.0 discussion thing on Friday at 10:30. Kate of ArchivesNext

Lunch on Thursday or even a coffee break works for me. -Sally J. of Practical Archivist

Lunch on Thursday works for me as well. Having never been to Chicago, I'm hoping for one of the more seasoned conference-goers and/or native Chicagoans to suggest somewhere yummy and nearby. Any suggestions? - Kate C. Informationatrix

Looks like it's lunch on Thursday--which will be 11:30. Anyone who is there early (like me) can try to scope out a place. Meet near the SAA registration desk, I guess. How many people do we think we might have? No more than 10, right? We've got Sally, Kate C. Jeanne, but we might also pick up John LeG., Arian, Jordon, Cal, or Mark M.--any of you guys in? - Any other takers? Kate T. ArchivesNext

A couple of suggestions via Underground Chicago, a new-ish blog devoted to "exploring the Chicago Pedway": Caffe RoM or Khyber Pass. - Sheila Ryan

Yes, I am in. Sorry for the low profile recently, but I have been inundated at work with very un-fun, non-2.0 things like budgets and relative humidity. See you tomorrow!--Jordon
