IV. Elections
A. We need more steering committee members. Here is a short job description for a member:
"Members of the records management roundtable steering committee assist in the
between-meeting development and activities of the roundtable. This includes, but
is not limited to: providing input on matters placed before the roundtable by the
SAA Council and staff; providing guidance and advice to the chair and vice-chair on
matters pertaining to the administration of the roundtable; promoting roundtable
activities within their institutions, state and local professional associations,
and communities; contributing time to the projects and other endeavors of the
roundtable; submitting articles for publication in the roundtable newsletter; and
performing other duties as necessitated by the business of the roundtable.
Commitment times vary for steering committee members. Members are asked to keep
diligent watch on their email accounts, as most roundtable business is conducted
via email and prompt responses are required for most steering committee business.
Steering committee memberships are for two (2) years, from annual meeting to
annual meeting."
A. Steering committee elections (vote for 15)
1. Candidates
a. Alison Stankrauff has served as the Campus Archivist at the Indiana University
South Bend campus since 2004. She is a lone arranger there, and inherited an
archives that had not had an archivist for ten years. She has created all of the
archives’ policies and has seen records management on the Indiana University South
Bend campus as one of her primary goals. She has done much work establishing ties
with departments and offices across campus and collecting records. Previous to
her current position, Alison served as a reference archivist at the American Jewish
Archives, and previous to that, as a technician at the Reuther Labor Archives at
Wayne State University. She interned at the Rabbi Franklin Archives at Temple Beth
El in metropolitan Detroit. Alison graduated with her Masters in Library Science
with Archival Administration concentration in 2002 from Wayne State University, and
has a Bachelors degree in history from Antioch College.
b. Debra Kimok received my B.A. in History at the State University of New York (SUNY)
at Plattsburgh in 1997 and my MLS at SUNY Buffalo in 2000. She works in the
Feinberg Library at SUNY Plattsburgh, currently serving as a reference/instruction
librarian and special collections librarian. She is a board member of the Kent
Delord House (a local historical association), a member of the North New York
Library Network (NNYLN), and he North Country Digital History Planning Group.
c. Greg Johnson is the digital iniatives archivist and content administrator for the
Ward M. Canaday Center at the University of Toledo. He is currently working on
a project for the creation of electronic records and email retention policies for
the university, a project to implement a digital content management system for
the university, a project as content administrator for the online museum for
Northwestern Ohio history Toledo's Attic, a project to update and improve the
Canaday Center and university websites, and a project to create digital
exhibitions of Canaday Center materials. He holds a BA in history from Knox
College, and MA in modern American and early modern/modern European history from
Purdue University, and an MLS from the university of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
d. Jennifer Young is the archivist for the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian
Community in Scottsdale, Arizona. She received her MLS from the University of
Arizon. She works with active and inactive records, paper and electronic. Since
the records office at the community is a new venture, she spends a lot of her
time deciding policies and standards and procedures and documenting. Her interests
include applying technology to promote access and in the outreach and exhibit
aspect of archives and RM.
e. Lorraine Stuart, CA administers the records management program at the Museum of
Fine Arts in Houston.
f. Bradley J. Wiles is a graduate student in the MLS program at the University of
Wisconsin-Madison.
g. Matthew Eidson is the acting director of of records center operations at the
Washington National Records Center in Suitland, Maryland, as an employee of the
National Archives and Records Administration (NARA). Previously, he served four
years as an archivist/senior records analyst in the life cycle management division
of the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA), where his work has
focused on the appraisal of agency electronic records retention and disposal. He
previously worked at the Georgia Archives. He holds an MLS from the University of
Pittsburgh.
h. Elizabeth Fairfax, MA, CA has been the records manager for an island county in
Washington state since 1996. She also provides private archives and manuscript
management for private clients and teaches personal and small-organization
management while serving as archivist for several social and fraternal
organizations Before her current job, she served as archivist, records manager,
and museum director for a tribal cultural center, successfully writing grants and
directing NHPRC and WSHRAB funded projects. She holds an MA in history with
certification in the graduate program for archives and records management and
certification in the graduate program for historic materials preservation, all from
Western Washington Univesity. She holds a teaching certificate for secondary and
adult education and taught gifted and honors students in public schools while
studying in graduate school. She has mentored 2 SAA members in the past 3
years, has been a member of SAA since 1986, and served for 2 years as chair
of this roundtable (RMRT).

a. Jackie Esposito has served as the administrator of the Penn State University
archives since 2001 and previously served as the assistant archivist since
1991. She previously served as project archivist for The Fiorello LaGuardia
Papers and as an adjunct history faculty member at St. John's University in
New York.
C. Webmaster (vote for 1)

2. The website now administered by Ed Galvin of Syracuse University will be
converted, modified, and maintained on the SAA server beginning in late Fall
2007. Thank you to Ed Galvin who has put so much effort and time into this project
over the last decade.
