Mark A. Matienzo is an Applications Developer at NYPL Labs of the New York Public Library Digital Experience Group. He is currently Chair of the Description Section and Web Liaison of the Metadata and Digital Object Roundtable. Prior to joining the New York Public Library, he worked as assistant archivist for systems and metadata at the Niels Bohr Library & Archives of the American Institute of Physics, as project cataloging archivist at the National Anthropological Archives, Smithsonian Institution, and as catalog librarian at ProQuest Information and Learning. He received his MSI from the School of Information at the University of Michigan and a BA in Philosophy from the College of Wooster.
His professional involvement outside of employment and SAA includes participation in MARAC and Code4lib; maintaining ArchivesBlogs, an aggregator for blogs about archives and archival issues; and blogging at thesecretmirror.com.
