DIRTY DEEDS Dirty Deeds Productions Pty Ltd SAM NEILL AND SAM WORTHINGTON TO JOIN BRYAN BROWN'S DIRTY DEEDS Sam Neill ("Jurassic Park", "The Piano") and Sam Worthington ("Bootmen", "Harts War") will join Toni Collette, John Goodman and Bryan Brown in DIRTY DEEDS, which commences principal photography August 6th on location in Sydney. DIRTY DEEDS is a comedy set in 60’s Sydney, amid the world of organised crime. Brown plays Barry Ryan, who runs the shady side of town: gambling, girls – anything illegal. Business is booming with the U.S. soldiers involved in the Vietnam War in town for R&R – so much so, that the news reaches the ‘mob’ in Chicago who decide they want a slice of the action down-under. Collette plays Ryan’s wife Sharon; John Goodman plays Tony, the Chicago mobster. Sam Neill will play Ray, a corrupt police detective. Sam Worthington plays Darcy, Barry's (Bryan Brown's) nephew, fresh from military service in Vietnam. Also joining the cast is newcomer Kestie Morassi, who will play Margaret, Barry's mistress; Andrew Gilbert ("Rabbit Proof Fence") who will play Norm, Barry's front-row foot soldier; Garry Waddell ("Chopper"), who plays Freddie, Barry's sworn enemy; William McInnes ("Seachange") who will play Hollywood, Barry's right-hand man and Felix Willliamson as Sal, a headkicker with the Chicago mob. Directed and written by David Caesar, DIRTY DEEDS is produced by Bryan Brown of New Town Films and Debbie Balderstone of Haystack Productions. Xavier Marchand of Haystack Productions, Kris Noble of Nine Films & Television are executive producers, Hugh Marks of Nine Films & Television and Jennie Hughes of Macquarie Film Corporation are co-executive producers. DIRTY DEEDS is the first feature to be backed by Nine Films & Television in association with Macquarie Film Corporation and the Australian Film Finance Corporation, supported by the NSW Film and Television Office. The film will be distributed in Australia and New Zealand by Nine Films and Television.
