Classroom Procedures and Rules

Guiding Rules

  1. Demonstrate respect for yourself - maintain dignified behavior.
  2. Demonstrate respect for others - treat others as you want them to treat you.
  3. Demonstrate respect for property - do your part to keep things clean and pleasant.

Guiding Procedures

  1. Enter the room in a calm, dignified manner. Take your seat.
  2. Carry pass whenever you have permission to leave room during class period.
  3. Turn in late make-up work. 70% credit is better than a zero.
  4. When teacher is instructing, listen quietly.
  5. Ladies and gentlemen do personal grooming in private - act accordingly.
  6. Unless you are of the bovine persuasion, keep gum chewing unobservable.
  7. Remain in your seat until the bell. Standing at the door is not an option.

Critical Viewing Policies

  1. Critical viewing of films is a required component of the North Carolina English curriculum.
  2. Films are for instruction, not entertainment.
  3. Listen quietly during films.
  4. Most films will have accompanying work or quizzes, so take notes as you feel necessary.
