1. Right heel touch forward

2. Right foot close to left foot

3. Left heel touch forward

4. Left foot close to right foot

5. Right heel touch forward

6. Right foot close to left foot

7. Left heel touch forward

8. Left foot close to right foot

9. Right heel touch forward

10. Right heel touch forward

11. Right toe touch back

12. Right toe touch back

17. Right foot takes short step forward on heel

18. Snap right toe down

19. Left foot takes short step forward on heel

Modified Jazz Box to the Left with 1/4 Turn CW

Option 1

Slight modifications to the Cat Strut make this the Southwest Strut.

Style change: Hold elbows to the sides with hands up to the shoulders on Counts 17, 19, 21, and 23. Keep elbows to the side and bring hands straight forward (down to waist height) while snapping your fingers on Counts 18, 20, 22, and 24.

Substitute these for Counts 9-12:

Heel and Toe Walk - Right

9. Pivot on balls of feet and swing both heels to the right

10. Pivot on both heels and bring both toes to the right

11. Pivot on balls of feet and swing both heels to the right

12. Pivot on both heels and bring both toes to the right

Option 2

Substitute the following for Counts 31 and 32.

31. Right foot step to close to the left foot

32. Left foot step up and down in place (to one music beat)

Option 3

Slight modifications to the Cat Strut make this the Alabama Swing.

NOTE: Instead of the first 8 counts/steps, use the modified 6 counts/steps (a loss of 2 counts).

1. Left heel swing to left

2. Left heel return to center

3. Right heel swing to right

4. Right heel return to center

5. Left heel swing to left

6. Left heel return to center

Reverse the pattern of Cat Strut by doing the swing steps before the touch/tap steps.

7. Right heel touch forward

8. Right toe touch backward

9. Right heel touch forward

10. Right toe touch backward

11. Right heel touch forward

12. Right heel tap in place

13. Right toe touch backward

14. Right toe tap in place

Change the 8 Cat Strut counts/steps to 2 counts/4 steps using syncopation.

15. Right heel touch forward

& Right sole step down

16. Left heel touch forward

& Left sole step down

Do the last 8 counts/beats of Cat Strut, finishing this version on Count 24.

Repeat Counts 1 to 24 until the end of song.
