NOTE: Some of these steps are normal for rap and disco moves but foreign on the country floor. 1. Right foot step forward and weight shift to right foot &. Left knee lift and right foot slide backward on the floor 2. Left foot step forward and weight shift to left foot &. Right knee lift and left foot slide backward on the floor 3. Right foot step forward and weight shift to right foot &. Left knee lift and right foot slide backward on the floor 4. Left foot step forward and weight shift to left foot &. Right knee lift and left foot slide backward on the floor 5. Right foot step forward, hips rock forward and weight rocks forward using ball of left foot and full right foot 6. Hips rock backward and weight returns to left foot 7. Hips rock forward and weight rocks forward using ball of left foot and full right foot 8. Hips rock backward and weight returns to left foot 9. Right foot step backward, hips rock backward, and weight rocks backward on full right foot, while left foot raises in place 10. Left foot step in place 11. Right foot step forward, hips rock forward, and weight rocks forward on full right foot, while left foot raises in place 12. Left foot step in place Syncopated Steps 13. Right foot step backward &. Left foot step forward 14. Right foot step forward &. Left foot step backward 15. Right foot step backward &. Left foot step forward 16. Right foot close to left foot with a stomp Vine to the Left 17. Left foot step to the left 18. Right foot step behind left leg to the left 19. Left foot step to the left 20. Right foot close to the left foot with a stomp and clap Slide Right with Reverse Pattern Stomps 21. Right foot jump or take a long step to the right (Some dancers have their hands and arms go to full extension to the sides, palms face down, the arms will remain straight as an airplane wing with the left close to the floor and the right above head height - hold the arms through Count 22.) 22. Left foot slide right to close to the right foot 23. Left foot stomp in place (knee raises until thigh is parallel to the floor), hands return to hips 24. Right foot stomp in place (knee raises until thigh is parallel to the floor) Syncopated Rhythm Jumping Jacks Using Legs Only—Hands Stay on Hips 25. Hop to open position with feet spread shoulder width &. Hop to closed position with heels together as in the starting position 26. Hop to open position with feet spread shoulder width &. Hop to closed position with heels together as in the starting position 27. Hop 1/2 turn CCW to open position with feet spread shoulder width &. Hop to closed position with heels together as in the starting position 28. Hop to open position with feet spread shoulder width &. Hop to closed position with heels together as in the starting position 1/2 Circle CCW Using Syncopated Rhythm Toe Down Points to Straddle Position NOTE: A Raleigh instructor has added the movement of the right hand staying above head height doing lasso turns CCW during Counts 29-32. 29. Right foot step to the left front diagonal (1/8 turn CCW) &. Left foot step in place, but turned 1/8 turn CCW to match the right foot 30. Right foot step to the left front diagonal (1/8 turn CCW) &. Left foot step in place, but turned 1/8 turn CCW to match the right foot 31. Right foot step to the left front diagonal (1/8 turn CCW) &. Left foot step in place, but turned 1/8 turn CCW to match the right foot 32. Right foot step to the left front diagonal (1/8 turn CCW) &. Left foot step in place, but turned 1/8 turn CCW to match the right foot Repeat Counts 1 to 32 until the end of song. Option 1 NOTE: Although this dance was designed originally and is taught nationally as a two-wall dance (All patterns start facing the front wall and after the turn in Count 27 you will momentarily face the rear wall.), some Chicago area instructors teach Counts 29-32 as a 3/4 turn CCW, which results in a four-wall dance. Option 2 On Count 4 the left foot may step to close to the right foot and not slide. Option 3 Electric Kicks from the original choreographer may be used for the following counts: 9. Right foot jump back and left foot kick forward 10. Left foot step in place 11. Right foot jump forward and left foot kick back 12. Left foot step in place Option 4 Double Time Electric Kicks from the original choreographer may be used for the following counts: 13. Right foot jump back, left leg kick forward and left foot step in place 14. Right foot jump forward, left foot kick back, and left foot step in place 15. Right foot jump back, left leg kick forward and left foot step in place 16. Right foot jump forward, left foot kick back, and left foot step in place Option 5 Syncopated Rhythm Jumping Jacks Using Legs Only—Hands Stay on Hips 25.
