Syncopated Cha-Cha Step and Rock Step

The footwork for Counts 29-32 in this dance is the same as the man's basic triple step in the East Coast Swing Counts 3-6; Counts 33-36 are merely a reversal (also the same as the lady's swing Counts 3-6). OK. So the choreographer added the clap on Counts 32 and 36!

31. Left foot step behind right and weight rocks backward

32. Weight rocks forward and clap

Syncopated Long Legs Shake

The choreographer apparently used the word shake(s) to describe the movement of the knee from one side to the other side. Many dancers prefer to snap, or move quickly, the leg from one side to the other. They argue that in syncopation, you don't have time to do much shaking.

37. Right toe touch forward, with right knee pointed left

&. Right knee shakes to the right

38. Right heel steps down
