Sway - 1 - A Stroll Dance for Couples

Music: It's Your Call by Reba McEntire, or other similar rhythm. Needs a steady 4 count—but if it's too slow, some dancers cannot maintain their balance on the turns and holds—and if it's too fast some may over spin. Find the rhythm that works best for you.
Choreographer: Unknown
Position: Lady faces the outside of the floor with her hands raised at her shoulders, heels together—gentleman stands behind her with his hands holding hers, heels together. Alternative position would have the gentleman wrapping his arms slightly around the lady with the hands being held slightly in front of the lady's body (for this intimacy, you might want to be good friends).
Comments: This is called Sway - 1 simply to designate it as a different dance from the other Sway dances listed. This is a very simple version, but one that may be hard to dance with strangers. Many men get so entranced with cuddling their ladies, they can't seem to move beyond repeats of the first four counts. We saw one couple work the first four counts eight times, before completing the dance. Obviously this created a minor traffic jam on the floor.
