Folkmoot Seawell is a school-wide international dance and arts festival. The
work "folkmoot" comes from Old English and means "a gathering of people".
Folkmoot Seawell was established by Sherry Norris and Rebecca Carnes
in 1984.
The 1996 version included 23 dances representing 21 regions of the world.
Our students showcased their skills by presenting folk, social and
interpretive dances in a school wide program. Some of the dances included:
An international Art/Learning Gallery displayed student art and backdrops representative of the various regions. These backdrops were completed by Seawell students under art teacher Annie Cramer's supervision.
